Gentleman’s Night Out – Grungy Gentleman x Geogr Jensen

On Wednesday, October 3rd, Grungy Gentleman had a Gentleman’s Night Out to celebrate the Georg Jensen Koppel collection. Located on Madison Ave., the Georg Jensen store was filled with fashion aficionados, while their puzzle and magic collection demanded a look, the main event was for the Koppel collection. This was my first glance at the collection of watches. Bold yet sleek and classic, better yet for every few watches Koppel adjusted the base thickness. Giving each watch a different feel, thick for a bold statement but another thin and sleek while giving a nod to the classical styling of metal and leather. Its elegance is stated in its thin bezels, which intensifies its classic characteristic, though the Koppel collection played with various strap stylings which included alligator/crocodile leather, two-tone nylon straps with various color tones. The collection also provided a selection of women’s watches that kept the same receipt but did not take away from a women’s finesse. It is a worthy mention since Christmas is right around the corner. My favorite included, a black satiny strap with its classic thin bezel. Also included were a few pastel colored straps with its collection to make it pop. The interesting grape and frog rings and cuff links also caught my eye.

The Koppel collection’s wide use of bezel size and construction along with its playful but classic strap options provided a strong collection to wrap around your arm. As stated before sleek, bold yet elegant. The collection’s approach was highlighted by its slight yet detailed tweaks to a classic watch. One has to appreciate the outcome of the redefinition of single details and the profound outcomes it can bring.
